Luis Brenes Luis is an organic inspector and trainer that also dedicates time being a post-grad professor and an organic compliance consultant. With 18 years of experience as an accredited organic, inspector, has audited farms and food processing facilities throughout NorthAmerica, LatinAmerica, the Caribbean, and Asia. Married and father of four, Luis is an agronomist with post-graduate studies in tropical Crop Protection that served as an organic extension and on-farm research agent. He also served as E.D. of the National Association for Organic Agriculture of Costa Rica, and as an IOIA's BOD member and Chair.

Luis Brenes - Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Standards
Luis Brenes, Costarican, is an agronomist with a M.Sc.in Agricultural Sciences, a father of four, former Executive Director of the National Association for Organic Agriculture and invited professor at the University of Costa Rica postgraduate program in Plant Protection. An IOIA member since 1995, he has conducted crop and process inspections in the US, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia for US, Costarican and European certification agencies. Through his consultancy company AgriVita, Luis helps producers implement organic system plans and maintain certification. He is very active as a trainer for IOIA, AgriVita and other organizations lecturing to farmers, inspectors, government officers, students, and processors not only in organic agriculture but also in good agricultural and manufacturing practices. Married with Hazel, a food technologist, they merge his passion for dirt with her passion for food safety.
