Lucian Nicolescu, P.E., LEED AP
Lucian was born and grew up in Romania.
He received his Master of Science in Engineering from â€œPolitehnicaâ€ University of Bucharest in 1995.
He began his engineering career in US in October of 1995 and has been working in private practice since.
Lucian is a LEEDÂ® Accredited Professional with speciality in Building Design and Construction, a licensed Professional Engineer registered in theÂ States ofÂ New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia, is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE).
Prior to establish his own firm in March 2008, Lucian was the Project Manager for Herbert Kunstadt Associates PC Consulting Engineers from 1999.
Prior to issuing the final construction documents Lucian
checks all drawings and specification and insures that there are no errors or omissions in any of the documents.
Between 1997 and 1999 Lucian worked at McKeon Rolling Steel Door (New York, NY) as a Chief Engineer with complete responsibilities for designing and manufacturing of special closures.
conducted submissions to Underwriters Laboratories for fire doors testing.
was in charge of designing special fire doors and closures for JFK Airport during the renovation of Terminal 4.
has performed calculations of pipes deflection, forces and loads in jambs, chain transmissions, gears, spring load and moment of inertia.
supervised AutoCAD draftsmen while preparing part drawings for manufacturing.
Between 1996 and 1997, Lucian worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Vinatoru Enterprises Inc. (Pompton, NJ).
worked on a variety of projects in the healthcare industry.
was part of a team prototyping a new surgical handle that uses water under pressure for cutting the fat excess on the eyeballs.
Among other projects he
worked on was the automation of production packaging machines to increase productivity and efficiency.
performed various mechanical calculations such as load capacities of spur and helical gears, sized gears, sprockets, mechanisms, pitches, belts and power transmissions.
In 1995 he worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Velco Electric Contracting (Maspeth, NY).
was responsible for updating completed projects documentation using AutoCAD, to maintain the AutoCAD network and prepare materials, cost and timing estimates.
In March 2008, Bicaluro Associates PC was formed by Lucian Nicolescu with the intent on providing efficient engineering services and creating unique and more office and work environment based on collaboration.
