After taking care of the legal loose ends, the trial continued with the first witness of the day, paramedic Louis Oleszkiewicz.
The paramedic was one of the first responders to the scene - prosecutors using his testimony to try to prove that the bathroom was a staged crime scene and not an accident as the defense have been arguing.

The testimony from paramedic Louis Oleszkiewicz came after Will County Judge Edward Burmila rejected a second request this week from defense attorneys to declare a mistrial.
Oleszkiewicz described finding Savio's body when he was dispatched to her home in March 2004 to assist an unresponsive woman. Oleszkiewicz also said there was no "sediment ring" in the bathtub and that only officers from the Chicago suburban Bolingbrook Police Department -- not state troopers or investigators -- were at the house when he was arrived.
