Coplin Plantation school Superintendent Lorrie Arruda, who is also Stratton Elementary School principal, said that the Coplin school board unanimously voted to send in the preliminary plan to join SAD 9, SAD 58, and Highland Plantation last week.
Directors approved Lorrie Arruda to stay on as a teaching principal in Stratton, and Felicia Pease to stay as teaching principal in Strong.
Arruda, who is also Coplin Plantation's superintendent, explained in a letter to SAD 58 that Coplin should not have to pay the additional cost "because it is retroactive from the time of notification by the state and is a hardship for Coplin."
