It was after a Sunday spin class, and while talking to some other members after class, that Lori
and Rich met.
Lori was born in Washington, D.C., but grew up living in Japan, Hawaii, and Paris, France due to her Dad's Air Force career.
While in high school in Paris and college in Missouri, Lori
was a cheerleader.
While cheering on teams, she
learned a lot about sports, including football, basketball, wrestling, and even baseball since her
dad was a coach.
After getting her journalism degree, Lori moved back to downtown Washington, D.C.
went to work for the federal government, earned an MBA at night from John Hopkins, and after 30 years of service, she
recently left her
federal career which was mostly spent at the U.S. Treasury.
While living in Washington, Lori
walked everywhere and belonged to athletic clubs.
In 1994, Lori
began spending her
weekends in Eastport/Annapolis to get away from her
was really excited when it was announced that the Annapolis Athletic Club
was going to be opening in the Eastport Shopping Center in May 2003.
Lori is a charter member of the club, and signed up for a membership before the club doors opened.
moved to Annapolis full-time in 2005.
Since then, Lori
has been coming to work out at least 3-4 times a week, and loves to take spinning, Group Power, and Group Step (her favorite).
In the summer of 2009, Lori
participated in a group class contest to see who could attend the most classes in 3 months, and she
won by attending 98 classes.
and Rich both love that they are now living in Annapolis and belong to the Annapolis Athletic Club
, which they highly recommend to others who want to meet interesting people who like to work out and have fun.
