Loretta Raider, Principal of the Raider Consulting Group and President of WIL has been co-leading the international project team of 16 people (including Hedra Packman, a WIL member) for the past 2 years, traveling to many regions of the country working with a variety of stakeholders.
Their work contributed to the first peaceful elections since Sierra Leone's independence, a remarkable achievement!
After giving us some background about Sierra Leone and the larger systemic project, Loretta
focused on this unique new program for women's political empowerment that has the potential to bring transformative change to women & girls in all areas: social, education, health and financial.
told the personal stories of women she's
met that led to the decision to create this program, described the vision for the program's impact, the obstacles that she
had and still has to overcome and the fulfillment and rewards that she
has already experienced.
had us experience a taste of the program ourselves and ask us, as leaders, for suggestions of what is most valuable for the women to take away from the program.
