Liz currently anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and consistently No. 1-rated 10 p.m. weekday newscast. Advertisement Liz is a "military brat. She was born in Maryland, later moved to Japan and then settled with her parents in Jacksonville where her father was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base. Liz graduated from Jacksonville High School and is proud to be a Red Devil. In 1998, Liz graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Fresh out of college, she launched her broadcasting career as a news reporter at KAIT in Jonesboro. Two years later, she made her way back home to Little Rock. Liz loves sharing stories of everyday Arkansans who do extraordinary things. In February 2005, Liz brought back a THV favorite, "Everyone Has A Story," where a toss of the dart on a state map sent her traveling in search of Arkansans' stories. Another series, "Fishin' With Liz" is a big hook with THV viewers. One of her favorite stories is when she had the opportunity to surprise a young boy with his first ever fishing trip. Another memorable fish tale is when she traveled to Mexico to bass fish with an Arkansas couple who owns a lodge there. Liz launched her most recent series "THV Working For You" in 2009 on Today's THV at 6:30. This series focuses on revealing information, being a voice for the voiceless and holding the powerful accountable. Some of Liz's most memorable career moments include anchoring the historic live coverage of the 50th anniversary of the 1957 Central High Crisis. She reported live from Oklahoma City when bomber Timothy McVeigh was executed. She also witnessed history at the grand opening of the Clinton Presidential Library where she interviewed celebrities, including Chris Tucker from the movie "Rush Hour," and Markie Post from "Night Court. She's also snagged several interviews with President Bill Clinton. One experience she'll never forget was when she reported for a week from Fort Sill, Oklahoma when the first wave of Arkansas soldiers with the 39th Infantry Brigade returned home from Iraq after a year away from their families. Throughout her THV career, Liz has been recognized many times for her work. An award-winning journalist, in early 2008 she was named "Best News Anchor" by readers of AY Magazine. Liz was also named a finalist in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette's 2008 "Best Of The Best In Central Arkansas" for local TV News Anchor. She was also nominated for an Emmy for her story about a little ballerina with Down syndrome. In 2004, Liz was named Broadcast Journalist of the Year by the American Red Cross. She's also won more than a dozen Associated Press, Society of Professional Journalists and Best of Gannett awards. Liz volunteers her time and talent to a number of community organizations and charities throughout the year. She and her husband, Keith, live in Cabot. Liz loves to dance, travel, spend time with her two dogs and cat and, of course, go fishing. Liz Massey
