Elizabeth ArkyCo-founder, First Book and Director, Government Relations, AccentureElizabeth (Liz) Arky is a co-founder of First Book and has served on First Book's Board since 1992.She was the Global Managing Director -- Government Relations in Accenture's Washington, D.C. office.Prior to joining Accenture, Liz served in the Executive Office of the President, Office of the United States Trade Representative, from 1995 to 1999.As the Assistant USTR for Congressional Affairs, she directed the planning and management of congressional strategies and activities related to U.S. international trade policy, including coordinating policy regarding trade relations with China, Vietnam, the World Trade Association, and NAFTA implementation.She also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Plans and Policy with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and was part of the Clinton-Gore Transition team in 1992.Prior to serving in government, Liz was an associate attorney at Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts.She received a J.D. degree with honors from George Washington University, and a bachelor's degree, cum laude with Departmental Honors, from Newcomb College of Tulane University.
