Lissy's passion for the arts springs from her
background as a classically-trained musician.An accomplished pianist, she
was ranked #1 in the state of Colorado for several years, winning numerous awards and performing extensively throughout the state.As a violinist, Lissy was a member of the Boulder Philharmonic
, opera and musical orchestras of the University of Colorado at Boulder
, and a variety of chamber groups. Lissy was awarded the prestigious Boettcher Scholarship and attended The Colorado College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Business Administration, and was named outstanding student in both Business and in the Arts and Sciences.She subsequently attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she earned an MBA with emphasis in Marketing and Organizational Behavior.
Lissy's professional career includes 20 years in marketing, strategic planning and general management within a broad range of business environments.Key positions have included Vice President of Marketing, Citibank California; Strategic Planner, Landor & Associates Design
, San Francisco; and Owner of Galler & Garrison Marketing & Design
, Boulder.She joined Ballet Nouveau Colorado in 1995 as consultant to the Board of Directors, and was President of the Board for two years before assuming the role of Executive Director in 1999. Lissy
takes an active role in arts advocacy in Colorado and nationally.She
has taught workshops for Adams County scientific and cultural organizations, developed sessions for the National Guild
of Community Schools of the Arts'
annual conferences, and presents annually to the Broomfield Leadership Council
on the topic of the arts and business in Broomfield and Colorado.She
is actively involved in initiatives for the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, representing both Adams and Broomfield Counties during reauthorization and other opportunities as they arise.Lissy also sits on the board of the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce, chairing the Marketing, Advertising and Communications Committee.
