Lisa Lunden, TOC Partner
has spent most of her
life involved with boats.
She worked as 1st mate and cook aboard two sailboats chartering in the Carribean, Massachusetts and Key West and obtained a US Coast Guard Captain license in 1986, after which she ran a 35' Friendship Sloop for night-sail and weekend charters as captain in Cape Cod, Mass. while working full-time in a large boatyard as one of the head finish painters.
went on to own and live aboard her
32' sailboat, bringing it to Fla. where she
own business refinishing and repairing fine yachts, 34' - 200', and specializing in exotic veneer repair, entire interior refits and varnish/staining work as well as brush Awlgrip painting, plus doing the occasional delivery.
After selling the sailboat, she
bought and restored two classic wooden motor yachts (a 40',1949 and a 42',1958 "Matthews") while living aboard and was a deck hand on a 161' motor yacht on an Atlantic crossing from England to Florida .
After getting married and attending the International Yacht Master Training Center
in Ft. Lauderdale , Florida , she
obtained a "Yacht Master Offshore" certificate of competency and became 1st mate working with her
husband, Charles, on a 76' M/Y traveling through Indonesia , across the Indian Ocean, to Madagascar and Africa .
She was 1st officer aboard the 201' motor yacht "Claire T" and 2nd officer on two Atlantic crossings aboard the 120' M/Y "Private Lives" built in Turkey and project-managed by Charles.
was delivery crew for the Dutch built 92' Moonen yacht also managed by Charles and delivered to France.
Living in Istanbul for two years during the construction of "Private Lives", she
taught herself conversational Turkish, currently helps to find and buy local products, is involved with finish details in the final stages of construction and helps in the office.
