DeAngelis, MD Dr. DeAngelis graduated summa cum laude with her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Grove City College in 2002. She earned her medical degree from The University of Toledo College of Medicine in 2007 and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Connecticut in 2011. Dr. DeAngelis is board eligible for certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the American Medical Association and a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In 2010, Dr. DeAngelis was honored with The Rebecca K. Dr. Lisa DeAngelis A typical grade school student in Brecksville, OH most-likely would select something other than a Merck manual for casual reading, however Dr. Lisa DeAngelis was not a typical grade-schooler. Intrigued by the effects of illness on the human body, it was clear from an early age that she wanted to be a scientist or a doctor. It was during her first year of medical school at The University of Toledo College of Medicine that women's health care caught Dr. DeAngelis' attention. The blend of surgery and preventative care, reinforced by an interest in the specific medical issues faced by women influenced her decision to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut. The desire to be a woman to whom other women could go to for trusted care led Dr. DeAngelis to join Litchfield County OB/GYN in 2011, where she has since become a valued physician with Women's Health Connecticut. The community hospital setting in Torrington, CT allows Dr. Lisa DeAngelis to know most of her prenatal patients by name. "I really enjoy the continuity of care, getting to know patients personally and developing relationships with them," shared Dr. DeAngelis when asked what she loves most about being an Ob/Gyn. "It's very rewarding when a woman lets you into her life to help with a problem or guide her through a pregnancy. Delivering a healthy baby and solving a woman's health issue are the fulfilling results for Dr. DeAngelis as well for her patients. For a young woman, that very first Ob/Gyn visit can be an overwhelming experience. Lindsey Rodrigues, 20, shared with Women's Health Connecticut how she found Dr. DeAngelis and all her worries were put to rest. "I was looking online for what to expect when going to the gynecologist for the first time. I kept finding all these traumatic stories other women had posted and wasn't sure what to think. Thankfully I found the Women's Health CT website and made an appointment with Dr. DeAngelis. Everyone I dealt with at the office was very nice and helpful and Lisa is the best!" "I loved that Dr. DeAngelis is young, female doctor; she made me feel totally comfortable. Lindsey said she would definitely recommend Dr. DeAngelis to her friends so they too can have a great doctor.
