Linnette Mendez began working at the MRC Holyoke VR Office as a bilingual secretary in 1992.Due to her interest in working directly with people with disabilities, she wanted to continue her education and earned a BA in Human Services.Deciding to continue her education further, she went on to earn a Master's in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies.Her efforts have not passed unnoticed.In February 2004, Linnette was promoted from a Clerk III to the position of Qualified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.At a special breakfast on April 23, 2004 Linnette was awarded the John J. Szufnarowski Outstanding Graduate Student Award for 2004 from the Rehabilitation and Disability Studies Department Academic Review Committee at Springfield College.
