Dr. Linda G. Sprague is the First Emeritus Professor at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai.  She is also Professor Emerita at the Whittemore School of Business & Economics (WSBE) at the University of New Hampshire.  Mrs. Sprague is a Fellow of the Decision Sciences Institute and a Fellow of the British Production & Inventory Control Society (now the Institute of Operations Management) in the U.K.  She has served as an Associate Editor for  Decision Sciences since 1984.  In 2003 she was recognized as a Distinguished Operations Management Scholar by the Operations Management Division of the Academy of Management.  She Is a Past-President of the DSI, a recipient of the Institute's  Distinguished Service Award and a Past President of the Asia Pacific Region of the FDSI.
Prof. Sprague received her SB in Industrial Management (minor in Geology) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She was a Class Officer, Assistant Station Manager at WTBS - the campus radio station, and News Editor, then Editor in Chief , of The Tech, the Institute's twice weekly  newspaper. In 1960 she was the first woman to receive MIT's Karl Taylor Compton  Award. She was President of the MIT Class of 1960 during the planning for its 50th Reunion in June 2010 .

Professor Linda SpragueProfessor Sprague received her doctorate in Productions/Operations Management from Harvard Business School.She holds an MBA from Boston University and an SB in Industrial Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.She is Associate Editor of Decisions Sciences, and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Operations Management.

Her current research and consulting focus on international manufacturing and distribution systems.Her publications include work on inventory management and control, material requirements planning, operations management, worldwide manufacturing practice, strategic analysis for global manufacturing and Small to Medium-sized Manufacturers (SMMs) in large manufacturers' supply chains.

WINTER PARK, Fla., Sept. 5, 2007 - Rollins College is pleased to announce Dr. Linda G. Sprague is now the College's Thomas J. Petters Distinguished Professor of International Business. Sprague will play a leadership role in developing and supporting the Rollins China Center by engaging the global academic and local business communities in Chinese business.

"We are delighted Linda Sprague has joined us," said Rollins College Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Roger Casey. "Linda is one of the international leaders in operations management education and her wealth of knowledge about Chinese business will benefit the College immensely.
Sprague previously served as professor of manufacturing and operations management at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai. She has served on the faculties of Cranfield University (UK), the University of New Hampshire, Stanford University, IMD (Switzerland), Amos Tuck School and IESE (Spain). In 1980, Sprague was a founding professor at the National Center for Industrial Science and Technology Management Development at Dalian, China. She received her Doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and her MBA from Boston University. Her bachelor's degree is from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her current research focuses on international manufacturing, distribution and supply systems, small- to medium-sized manufacturers and China's developing supply chain infrastructure. Her publications include works on developments in China's supply chain platforms, inventory management and control, manufacturing and operations information systems, strategic analysis for global manufacturing, industrial history and more.
