Food Service Supervisor Linda Hostler and Lakeview Elementary School Principal Paul Liikala presented the program to the board.
said studies have shown that students behave better and improve academically with proper nutrition.
Students will be able to receive breakfast as they get off the bus at school so it does not interfere with classroom time, Hostler
said. They will be provided a pastry or bagel and juice or milk.
The cost for the breakfast will cost 30 cents for students eligible for reduced-price or free lunches and $1.25 for other students.
To make the program work financially, Hostler
said, at least 30 students must participate.
