Frontier's board of directors, following the purchase of Verizon, awarded their top five executives with bonuses and stock awards totaling $5.4 million, according to Letha Perry, president of CWA Local 2001.
Perry said while rewarding executives, the company is demanding concessions, including increases to employees health care and raising rates on retirees. "These are the men and women who have been the foundation of the company. It is yet another example of corporations shifting more and more costs to workers," Perry said.

Letha Perry, president of the CWA local in Charleston, expressed concern that Frontier is biting off more than they can chew with the $8.6 billion deal.
The company is taking an enormous dept and does not have the capacity to improve service quality or expand access to that state's rural areas, Perry said. Perry also cited Verizon's sale of its wire lines in New England and Hawaii.
