On Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 224 First Street in Englewood, Rev. Taylor will officially open the doors of the new Community Baptist Church -- a $13 million, 45,000 square foot state-of-the-art sanctuary and Christian educational center with two special services.
The building of this remarkable structure is the culmination of Rev. Taylor's vision, and his congregation's belief and investment in that vision.
Their incredible journey was given altruistic support from the greater community of faith who offered use of its' respective churches to Community Baptist for various meetings and ceremonies, and from the Bergen Performing Arts Center which permitted Rev. Taylor to hold two worship services in its theater each Sunday during the two-and-a-half year construction period.
While statistics show that most churches experience a decrease in membership during such transitions, the Community Baptist Church's congregation grew by a significant 12% with members increasing their monetary giving in record numbers.
"Throughout this journey, we continued to be in the business of saving souls, just as we continue to strive to be a five-star church, offering our best to the community and to one another," says Rev. Taylor.
