Last spring, Muller
was a recipient of one of the school's Holy Cross Merit Awards, granted for excellence in teaching.Over the summer, Muller
had the opportunity to spend six weeks in South Africa, studying thenation's history, geography, society, culture, politics, and economics on a scholarship program for American educators sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities
.Outside of the classroom, Muller is an assistant coach on the boys' and girls' track-and-field teams.Muller began teaching at Saint Francis in 2003, but she was not new to the school, having been a member of its graduating class of 1998.She then went on to receive her bachelor's degree in history from Princeton University and master's degree in education from Stanford University, before returning to her alma mater."Lesley Muller is an outstanding young teacher who, in four short years, has become a legendary teacher on campus," Principal Patricia Tennant says.
