Lertkiat Chongjirajitra, a Thailand Yamaha Trumpet Artist, is currently a Principal Trumpet of Bangkok Symphony, Galyani Vadhana Institute and Siam Philharmonic Orchestras as well as a Trumpet Professor and Assistant Dean for Activity Affairs at Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University. Lertkiat is also a founded member, leader and manager of Bangkok Brass Quintet since 1999, a member of Paramount Brass and Trumpet & Brass Coach for Thai Youth Orchestra for 9 years since 1998, and Trumpet Instructor at The Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University since 2003. He also serves as a Music Director and the Conductor of the Bangkok Silpakorn Wind Orchestra that he has found in 2008.

Lertkiat Chongjirajitra is the principal trumpet of the Bangkok Symphony, a trumpet/brass lecturer for the Silpakorn University Faculty of Music, the director of the Bangkok Silpakorn Wind Orchestra, and a Yamaha Artist.

He's also a fervent SmartMusic advocate who recently demonstrated SmartMusic on Thailand's national television. You can watch his demonstration, including English subtitles he kindly provided, here.

Lertkiat Chongjirajitra is currently a Principal Trumpet of Bangkok Symphony and Siam Philharmonic Orchestras as well as a Trumpet Professor at the Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University. Lertkiat is also a founded member, leader and manager of Bangkok Brass Quintet since 1999.
He has appeared as a soloist with The Bangkok Symphony, Nusantara Symphony, Chulalongkorn University Symphony, National Symphony, Galyani Vadhana Institute, HK Tak Min Philharmonic and Siam Philharmonic Orchestras, as well as the, Bangkok Silpakorn Wind Orchestra, Hong Kong Chamber Wind Philharmonia, Silpakorn University Wind Orchestra, 2005 and 2010 International Trumpet Guild Conference. Lertkiat has also performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Malaysian Philharmonic, Singapore Symphony and Macao Orchestras.
Born in Bangkok, Thailand, he had entered to Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University and graduated with an honor in Composition major. He had taken lessons and master classes with several world famous trumpeters such as Wynton Marsalis, Stephen Burns, Henry Nowak, Pierre Dutot, Rob Roy McGregor, James Thompson, Douglas Prosser, Konradin Groth, Mark Gould, Thomas Stevens, Jon Dante, Zden?k Šedivý and Håkan Hardenberger. In September 2000, he was awarded scholarship to studying at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under Laurence Gargan.
Since 1996, he had been participating with the Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) for Asian, European, North American and Australian tour with Maestro Sirgiu Comissiona and Maestro Richard Pontzious. Lertkiat studied trumpet with Professor Edmund Cord and Edward Hoffman during his seven summers with AYO.

The competition began with John Irish, chair of the Youth Competition, welcoming everyone and extending a warm thankyou to the judges, James Sherry (Professor of Music at Mahidol University), Lertkiat Chongjirajitra (Principal trumpet, Bangkok Symphony, and Professor of Trumpet at Rangsir University), and Shu-Han Yeh (International Soloist from Taiwan).

Lertkiat, is currently a Principal Trumpet of Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, Galyani Vadhana Institute Orchestra and Trumpet and Brass lecturer at Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University. He had performed with National Symphony Orchestras both Thailand and Malaysia, as well as with Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (China) and Nusantara Symphony Orchestra (Indonesia). Lertkiat is also a founded member, leader and manager of Bangkok Brass Quintet. He has also appeared as a performer and instructor not only in Thailand, but also in United States, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. He had appeared with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Asean-Japan Symphony Orchestra, City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Soloist as well as the Saturday's Night Jazz Orchestra with many well known conductors such as Charles Dutoit, Philippe Entremont, Sergiu Comissiona and Yan Pascal Tortelier. And in ITG 2005, he also served as a judge in the ITG Youth Competition at the 2005 Bangkok Conference.
