Len Nason's 1969 Mustang FastbackLen
wife Rosemary were both born and raised in Fredericton and
and Rosemary's son Derrick and fiance Francesca Catalano live in Calgary AB
and are getting married on Aug. 26th. Len is a sales consultant with Northrup Homes and Rose is a legal assistant with a major law firm.
Len's interest in car's go back to his
early teenage years when he
along with the help of his
father, bought his
first car-a1955 Austin A50
.Looking back it wasn't such a great car as he
first thought, but it got him on the road to independence, just the same.It wasn't until Oct. 1968 that he
first new Ford
, a 1969 Fairlane 2 dr. ht. 302, c-4 (on the road for the price of $3,201.00) from Wood Motors.Since he
was paying cash with the exception of $400.00, the 69 Mach 1 was just too much money at the time.Even though he
didn't buy the mustang Len
knew someday he
would have a 69 Mustang and transform it into the car he
always wanted. Some 36 year's later before the right car finally rolled into his
yard.A 1969 Sports roof, originally purchased at Wood Motors and that had always remained in the area.Originally a "silver jade" colour, Len had it redone in "Acapulco Blue" and is now the 4th owner, the 3rd owner having it for 27 years.
Like most of us Len
and Rose like to drive the car on nice days and evenings, a passion they have shared for many years.Len
says it is pretty neat when people stop to look or give a thumbs up when you pass by.It gives Len
a sense of pride to know that both young and old people still appreciate the cars from that era and like to see them still around.
