to the Board of Directors and as the Company's new Chairman and President and Chief Executive Officer.He
succeeds Dr. W. Pierce Carson who resigned to pursue other business interests.
served as the president and chief executive officer of Ranchers Exploration & Development Corporation until its merger with Hecla Mining Company.Since that time, he
has served in senior officer positions with other companies in the mining industry.He
has also served as a director of several other mining companies including Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. and he
is currently a director of four other mining companies and trustee of John Hancock Mutual Funds.
Nord Pacific Limited is an international resource company, engaged in the production of copper, and the exploration and development of copper and gold projects in the South Pacific and North America.The Company owns an interest in the Girilambone Copper Mine, New South Wales, Australia, and owns 100 % of the nearby Tritton copper deposit, for which it is currently arranging bank financing.Negotiations have been completed for mining and construction contracts for the development of this new underground mine.Plans call for Tritton to produce an average of 18 thousand tonnes of copper (40 million pounds) annually, over a mine life exceeding seven years, beginning approximately 12 months after financing is completed and development is commenced.
