A native of China, Professor Lefu Gu was born in 1938.
received a first class art education from the China Fine Arts College
which is the most famous university of fine arts in China.
After graduating in 1961, he became a professor at the Nanjing Normal University.
He was a member of the Chinese National Art Association, the Chinese National Calligraphy Association and is listed in â€œWhoâ€™s Who of Chinese Artists".
is extremely talented and versatile, he
has taught both painting and poetry.
He spent a year as a visiting professor at the Tibet University during an academic leave from Nanjing Normal University.
first came to the United States in 1989 as a visiting professor at Union College
in Schenectady New York.
has also taught at the college of Saint Rose in Albany, New York.
In 1980, while Professor Gu
was still in China, his
painting â€œPlum in Snowâ€� (Chinese brush painting) was presented to the Italian government by the visiting delegation of the Chinese government.
