Sarpy County Attorney Lee Polikov will seek a fifth term in office this year, hoping to add to the 41 years he has served Sarpy County in various capacities.

While assigning a juvenile offender to adult court is always a difficult decision, he
said the maneuver is typically used only for the most serious crimes such as murder, or recklessness that leads to death.
Given that judges must always approve trying a juvenile in adult court, Polikov
believes sufficient safeguards exist.
