Prior to his current position with SABIC, Harnett served as the General Counsel of SABIC's Innovative Plastics, a business unit of SABIC, founded in September 2007 with the acquisition of GE Plastics.Previously, in May 2007 Larry was appointed the General Counsel of GE Plastics after progressing through a series of roles with increasing responsibilities.Harnett joined GE Plastics in September 1996 as Senior Counsel, Americas.From 1981 to 1996, Harnett practiced law in New York City with the international law firms of Haight, Gardner, Poor & Havens and Marks & Murase (currently Bingham, McCutchen), becoming a partner at Marks & Murase in 1990.In 1978, Harnett earned a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Albany in political science and economics.He then received a Juris Doctorate from UCLA School of Law in 1981.
