LAWRENCE E. BRECHT, D.D.S.

EDUCATION: Dr. Brecht is an alumnus of Columbia College and received his dental degree from the New York University College of Dentistry.
After completing a residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital
and a Fellowship at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine
, Dr. Brecht
earned certificates in both Prosthodontics
and Maxillofacial Prosthetics
from the New York Veterans Administration Medical Center
ACADEMIC APPOINTMENTS: Dr. Brecht is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Prosthodontics and Occlusion in the Division of Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry.
He also serves as the Director of Maxillofacial Prosthetics in the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics at NYU, where he has taught since 1987.
He has a joint appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU School of Medicine where he is Director of the Center for Craniofacial Prosthetics and serves as a member of the Institute's Cleft Palate, Craniofacial and Ear Anomalies teams.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS: Dr. Brecht is member of the American College of Prosthodontists and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, a Fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics, the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics and the New York Academy of Dentistry.
He has served as a director in many of these organizations and is a past president of the New York Section of the American College of Prosthodontists.
LITERATURE: Dr. Brecht
is a frequent contributor to both the facial plastic surgery and dental literature, having written numerous journal articles, contributed textbook chapters and abstracts.
He serves on the editorial review board for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the International Journal of Prosthodontics.
LECTURES: Dr. Brecht
has given more that one hundred professional lectures, workshops and presentations to dentists, plastic surgeons and post-graduate dental students both throughout the United States as well as internationally.
