Peterson thanked Leach for filling in for her at the April meeting and for running a very smooth School Election on May 3 rd.
Also, Peterson noted that on the second page it may be best to state that our planning commission has 7 members. Revised copies of the sample ordinance will be sent to board members before the next regular meeting in which it will need to be adopted to be in compliance. Within two weeks after the ordinance is adopted by the township board a Notice of Adoption must be published in the newspaper. This notice must state that the ordinance will become effective upon the expiration of 63 days. Dahlstrom will communicate with Peterson if other changes to the draft need to be made.
Seguin, Peterson and Asplund will be attending the Michigan Township Association (MTA) Spring 2011 Regional Meeting in Big Rapids on May 17 th.
Peterson expressed interest in attending an MTA meeting titled Introduction to Millage Questions. She asked the board for approval to attend. Seguin seconded. APPROVED
A brochure on an MTA meeting titled Hot Topics in Planning and Zoning was available. Peterson made a motion that if Planning Commission members, Zoning Board of Appeals members or the Zoning Administrator are interested in attending that they are allowed to.
Peterson requested that three old township printers and an old desk in the storage room be disposed of.
Peterson moved to choose option 1.
Asplund, Peterson and Leach met with Account Manager B.J. Pratt of Burnham and Flower Insurance Group to go over the proposed township insurance policy that would take affect in July.
Peterson suggested that we may wish to think about what could possibly be done by the township to compensate Andreen for use of his tractor.

Peterson informed that the township received an application, which included a $500 check, from Charter Communication for a METRO Act Permit which would allow them to connect their system in Cadillac to their network in Reed City . Peterson passed around the information.
, Peterson provided two resolution options for fire district millage renewal wording to be placed on the August Primary Election ballot. #1 would not take into consideration Headley rollbacks; #2 would adjust for a rollbacks in millage if it should happen. Normally it is best to ask for millage renewals at an election the year after the millage expires; however because at this time there are no elections scheduled for our township it should be more cost effective to have it on a ballot this year. Peterson said that MTA also advised that August would be the best month.
