Laura Laiben, Culinary Center
Rimann Liquors | Local Spotlight
Not only was I looking forward to the meal and meeting Laura
, but I loved browsing at all the cute collectables that she
had in her
little entrance shop.
grew up just outside of St. Louis.
was inspired by both her
parents and grandmother who were all excellent cooks.
has always loved food and cooking, but decided to go to law school.
After all her
hard work and time she
put into it, she
got bored and realized that her
dream and love in life was cooking.
then started teaching "Wines of the World" and "Foods of the World" at Penn Valley Community College
Then in 1998, Laura
opened the Culinary Center
of Kansas City.
To me this is a perfect example of how following your heart and dreams can really pay off in the end.
looks forward to walking into her
business every day.
is truly happy!
When I asked Laura
, "why this, why cooking?
replied how important it is to have a nice meal and sit down with friends, family or whomever.
talked about how some of the most important conversations, whether happy or sad, will be as you are gathered around the table.
has a wonderful staff.
staff will be there every Saturday doing cooking demonstrations and answering any cooking questions you might have.
