St. Johns Welfare Federation Executive Director/CEO, Dr. Larry Lake, Recieves an Honorary Doctorate Degree From Flagler College

On Wednesday, April 29, 2009 family, friends, community members and employees of the St. Johns Welfare Federation
joined on the BayView dock to celebrate and honor Dr. Larry B. Lake
for a recent honor bestowed on him by Flagler College
On April 25, 2009, at its fortieth commencement ceremony, Flagler College
awarded a Doctor of Laws
, honoris causis, to Dr. Lake
, for his
service to the community.
Dr. William T. Abare, Jr., President of Flagler College introduced Lake as uniquely qualified to deliver the commencement address.
Lake has earned five academic degrees including two doctorates.
In 1993, Lake was appointed the Executive Director and CEO of the St. Johns Welfare Federation, a not-for-profit continuum of care healthcare organization that Abare has personal sat on the board for over 16 years.

The St. Johns Welfare Federation was founded in 1920, and Dr. Lake is only the third CEO to head the organization.
Since 1993, gross revenues have increased from approximately $2.9 million to over $15.5 million annually.
In that time, the number of employees has increased from 100 to 250.
