Larry Harte
Larry Harte grew up in Green Bay and Cincinnati and then graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in civil engineering. He was elected to the Glendale City Council in 2002 and elected Mayor in 2004, a position he held for two terms until 2012.
Mr. Harte has been very involved in the Glendale community. He served on the Glendale City Planning Commission, represented Glendale on the Board of Directors of the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) and participated regularly in the Colorado Municipal League (CML). In 2011, he was elected Chair of the Metro Mayor's Caucus, a group of 40 Mayors in the Denver metro area.
He is currently on the Board of the Glendale YMCA, LiveWell Colorado and is the Chairman of the Board of the Four Mile Historic Park.
The Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce named Mr. Harte the Executive Director in 2005. He encourages the businesses to become more involved with the city's residents and with the city government in creating an improved culture of community.
His interests include architecture, music, health, biking and soccer. Mr. Harte and his wife Heather met in seventh grade.
