Larissa Raphael

Known for her classic and inventive desserts, Larissa Raphael has worked alongside Chef Bill Telepan since the opening of Michelin-starred Telepan on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
A proud native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Raphael studied Liberal Arts at the University of Pittsburg to become a social worker. After a two-year stint with Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) outside of Philadelphia, she moved to Seattle for a change of scenery.
After a few more years doing social work, Larissa followed her longtime passion, and enrolled in the Baking & Pastry Program at South Seattle Community College.
In 2005 Bill Telepan asked Raphael to join him as lead Pastry Chef with the opening of Telepan.
Larissa Raphael and Bill Telepan teamed up in 2014 to make a downtown debut by opening Telepan Local in New York's Tribeca neighborhood.
Raphael skillfully adapts her art to complement Chef Telepan's menus, introducing homemade seasonal jams, ice-creams, sweets and pastries. At Telepan she presents sophisticated, yet relatable desserts and brunch treats; where at Telepan Local Larissa puts a special twist on familiar dessert classics.
