Lance Ranger, Owner and Operator of Agua Boa Amazon Lodge, is also the founder of the Ranger Foundation.
The Foundation is a Mauritian based charity dedicated to bringing conductive and academic education in an accredited Special Needs School for children with Cerebral Palsy. During its time, it has created an innovative learning environment for Mauritian children with a variety of disabilities including cerebral palsy and autism. In 2013 Lance attempted a 'from sea to sea' East-West crossing of Greenland on skis to raise sponsorship money for the charity. Unfortunately, he and his two experienced teammates had to turn around due to being hit by two ice hurricanes (Piteraq storms). However, they still managed to raise a considerable sum and the building works are now well under way to build a purpose-built school and therapy center on the island. This year. Lance crossed the Vatnajokull glacier in Iceland and climbed iceland's highest peak, the Hvannadalshnukur. Lance continues to raise funds for this important project and is grateful for every donation. The Ranger Foundation, through its US support corporation, 'American Friends of the Ranger Foundation Inc' is now registered as a Tax Exempt Organization with the Internal Revenue Service and can therefore receive tax deductible donations from US citizens. The IRS acceptance letter is on file in our booking office in Livingston, MT and can be provided upon request. We hope you will consider supporting Lance and the Ranger Foundation as they work to create a special learning environment for these children.

It was through the birth of his oldest son Oliver, who was born extremely prematurely, that Lance Ranger first encountered physical disability within his own family.
His positive experiences with Oliver led Lance to want to help other disabled children. After helping to raise sponsorship and funding for several projects in the UK and Mauritius, Lance created the Ranger Foundation Trust (RFT) in April 2008. The RFT aims to help physically disabled children on the island of Mauritius by delivering National Curriculum education and Conductive Education. Since creating the RFT, Lance has continued to raise awareness of, and sponsorship for the project by embarking on sponsored treks to the South Pole (2007), North Pole (2009), the 500km Finnmarksloepet dog sled race (2011) and an attempted crossing of Greenland in 2013 (he had to turn back after being by two full hurricanes).
