Lama Norbu
Phoenix Rising Center Lama Norbu, Spiritual Master Lama Norbu, President and Spiritual Leader for New Century Foundation Lama Norbu, master of vajrayana and an adept in Supreme Yoga Tantra, grew up in a matriarchal society near Lugu Lake (in the region of Shangri-La). In childhood he absorbed the Buddha-dharma from his father, who was also a lama. Later he traveled to India and was ordained as a monk in Sera Monastery. Throughout his journey, he endured social unrest, poverty, and hunger, all of which propelled him to seek ultimate liberation. He received teachings from numerous, distinguished teachers and became thoroughly rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, having completed his Geshe studies (equivalent to a PhD.) Under guidance from his master, he lived in Taiwan and Singapore prior to moving to America in 2005. He currently serves as spiritual advisor and administrator of the New Century Foundation (U.S.A.). As Lama Norbu explains it, the word "Lama" is made up of La- ("supreme") and -ma ("mother"), which when combined, means "Supreme Mother.

Lama Norbu says: "When we believe in our own goodness, then opportunities and doorways open.
