Kartah - Lacey Sturm "The Reason"

Lacey Sturm "The Reason"
We had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Author Lacey Sturm who was on book tour in Hollywood this month for the release of her first book The Reason - a gripping autobiography about Lacey's life before and after her encounter with God. Lacey is no ordinary woman. She is a rock star, wife, mother, author, and evangelist. To top that, she's led an extraordinary life; from a rocky childhood, teenage rebellion, and a planned suicide to a dramatic life change in finding Jesus on the most unlikely day of her life. Propelled into stardom shortly after her salvation, Lacey used her influence as the lead singer of Flyleaf to change lives and point lost souls to hope in Jesus. The Reason is a must read right now; a piece of art from Lacey's heart that is so moving, so personal, and vulnerable that we could not, would not put it down. The trials and pain she endured in her adolescence was, at some points, almost unfathomable. Unfathomable that someone so kind and gentle should ever have to experience the cruelties of life at such a young age. That's what makes this book so compelling; to have walked through the fire and come out unscathed and shining bright for Christ is truly an inspiration and a testament to how life, hope, and joy is restored and made anew in our Lord, Jesus Christ. There's no question God has very big plans for Lacey, The Reason, and her future as a Christian author. Let us pray for Lacey and support her as she works so diligently to share her testimony so that through her efforts others might see Jesus for the very first time. Amen. At age ten, Sturm began to doubt the existence of a good God when she lost her cousin to abuse. Her young life spiraled out of control as she dealt with her own abuse by letting her anger and confusion guide her into drugs and depression. She gave up on God; her only solace came through tears as she cried herself to sleep each night. As she was lying in bed one night, she decided to end the pain for good and planned to commit suicide the next day. The next morning, however, Sturm got into a screaming match with her grandmother, who tried to force her to go to church. To stop the yelling, she went to church, never anticipating what she would find there - a reason to live. Sturm dedicates the book "To the one like my teenage self, who is a breath away from finding the beauty of a life worth living. Lacey Sturm does in "The Reason" what she has done her whole career-she tells the truth, sings the truth, dances the truth. Her story will blow you away, and her heart will touch you." -Chap Clark, Ph.D., author of "Hurt 2.0: Inside the World of Today's Teenagers" "In a time where the gulf between sacred and secular seems to grow incrementally, Lacey bridges the gap with her soulbearing candor, raw passion, and prophetic insight." "Lacey Sturm is a voice of hope to a hurting generation. Sturm is currently in the studio writing and recording songs for her upcoming mainstream solo release.
