Please join us in welcoming a new member to our Staff, Mr. L. Henry Dowell of Nicholasville, who has been named Artistic Director at Ragged Edge.
L. Henry Dowell studied Theatre at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Centre College and received his B.A. from Morehead State University where he appeared as John Barrymore in I Hate Hamlet, Orgon in Tartuffe, Volpone in Volpone, Professor Harold Hill in The Music Man and directed the University's production of Bye, Bye Birdie.While there, he wrote and produced the University's Student Orientation Program It's Alright!He has also worked regionally with Bunbury Theatre, Lighthouse Theatre, The As-Yet-Unnamed Theatre Company, Lexington Shakespeare Festival, Fantastical Theatricals Dinner Theatre Company and most recently with Ragged Edge Theatre where he directed their Summer Children’s Theatre Program and the September, 2006 production, Barefoot in the Park..In 1994 He received a grant from The Kentucky Arts Council to teach Theatre at Clearfield Elementary School, and has been involved with Educational Theatre ever since.
