Rev. Dr. Kymron deCesare - Chief Research Officer
An ordained Taoist minister, Kymron deCesare began life in 1953 in Detroit, Michigan before moving to California as a 2-year-old. A precocious child, by age nine he had already taught himself Chinese and French herbalism and synthesized his first explosive compound. In 1971, Rev. Dr. deCesare joined the Navy where he was trained in medical lab technology and as a Physician's Assistant and Corpsman. Upon leaving the military, he enrolled at Foothill Community College before transferring to the University of California, Davis as a Chemistry major. In 1979, Rev. Dr. deCesare was hired as an analytic chemist for the California National Primate Research Center in Davis, doing atmospheric chemistry. After just over two years in this position, he was hired to manage analytical and instrumentation laboratory courses at UC Davis. In 2001, he was reassigned to manage and operate the general chemistry laboratory courses for thousands of students. Outside of the University, Rev. Dr. deCesare has a diverse background of expertise having served as everything from an expert witness in a federal explosives case to a volunteer grade school teacher to an instructor for a wide variety of craft techniques involving stone, wood, metal, textiles, ceramics, glassblowing and more.
