ANNOUNCES KART RACING SERIES AT FAST, SMOOTH PERRIS RACEWAY.
The Burris Corporation today announced its intention to run a sprint and speedway program at the beautiful Perris Speedway, located 5 miles east of Riverside, CA.Burris
currently holds the rights to all racing activities at Perris Speedway.
As it currently stands, the kick-off race will occur in mid-February using the half mile sprint configuration. The race will feature classes for Yamaha and Briggs racers, along with a special combined class for reeds and rotaries. In the works is a special All American class-featuring the Tecumseh 5hp controlled engine, domestic chassis and Burris
(of course) tires.
These sprint and speedway races will reintroduce true professional classes, run following the slate of amatuer classes. For a very small fee, a racer who ran in the amatuer classes could enter an appropriate professional class and compete for a guaranteed purse. There will be a junior professional class that will pay money.
Exact details of this exciting new series will be released in the weeks to come. For the first race there will be no rules to exclude any tires or specific hardware from the series. The Burris Corporation emphasizes that the race organization and class structure will be set up with the goal of maximizing the success of the mainstream, self-funded Southern California racer.
