Welcome our new member Kristie Wetjen!
Kristie Wetjen is currently the Executive Director of NewBo City Market, or as her business card reads, "Cultivator of Community Awesomeness. She brings nearly 20 years of community and business development experience to the Market, as well as a strong background in marketing and event planning.
Prior to leading NewBo City Market, she was the Executive Director of the Amana Colonies Convention & Visitors Bureau.
She is involved with many boards and projects, including the New Bohemia Group, Southside Investment Board, and the History Center Board. Additionally she participates on the Czech Village New Bohemia Main Street District's Economic Restructuring committee. She is a founding member of a community wide public art project that will launch later this year and run through 2016, celebrating the 125th birthday of Grant Wood.
She was educated in the Corridor, attending both Kirkwood and the University of Iowa, studying history and political science. She has also participated in numerous community and business training, including completing course work through the Community Development Institute.
