Loyalist student Kristen McIsaac, the competition's project manager, liked what she saw.
She and her classmates evaluated the younger students' "excellent" work by taste, presentation, health and safety precautions and more. "I can't think of a bad thing any of them did," McIsaac said. No winner was chosen Saturday; both teams advanced to the finals. "A lot of them are very young without much training," said McIsaac. "Their knife skills were amazing. Their attention to detail was equally amazing." McIsaac said she didn't study culinary arts in high school but "it would've helped a lot in first year, to know what I was coming into."
