Kaland-McMasters Appointed to Financial Accounting Standards Advisory CouncilKrista M. Kaland-McMasters, CPA, Partner and Chief Practice Officer for Clifton Gunderson LLP, has accepted an appointment to the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC), the operating arm of the Financial Accounting Foundation, which oversees issues surrounding the profession's financial accounting and reporting standards.
When Kaland-McMasters' one year term begins on Jan. 1, 2007, she
will join 32 other leaders from business, the financial community, the accounting profession, education and government who will provide differing points of view and insights on a wide range of issues affecting the financial accounting industry.Members are chosen for their demonstrated knowledge impact of financial accounting and reporting upon the effective functioning of capital markets.

...In addition to her role in firmwide management at Clifton Gunderson, Kaland-McMasters is a member of the AICPA, where she has served on a number of high level national committees.Currently, she is a member of the Center for Public Company Audit Firms Executive Committee, which is responsible for promoting improvement in the quality of audits of public companies.She is also active in the Illinois and Wisconsin CPA Societies, and has acted as team captain or team member on over 70 peer reviews through the AICPA and on a firm-by-firm basis.
