The person who stopped the pool from being filled was Slatington Borough Council member Kris Burek.
Burek told police the pool association was stealing water. Councilor Kris Burek called us, but declined an interview. She said she will reserve her comments for the council meeting Monday night. "Kris Burek I am asking for your resignation tonight," said Slatington Borough resident John Rinker.

Police were called on Tuesday to stop borough workers from filling it - on orders from Slatington Borough Council member Kris Burek.
Burek said council never authorized the sale or donation of water and without such approval, filling the roughly 290,000-gallon pool with borough water would be akin to theft. "We have people come before the council if they want to have a walk-a-thon," Burek said. Burek said an irate resident called her Tuesday afternoon, telling her the pool was being filled. She tried to reach the Slatington police chief and the station, but when she couldn't, she called the Lehigh County Communications Center to report a theft of water at the community pool in Victory Park. But Burek told the chief to make sure the borough workers shut off the water immediately. In May 2010, Burek questioned Slatington's support. "We have people drowning in debt," Burek said at the time. She was outvoted by the six other council members, who praised the pool association for providing a haven for kids in a place that's otherwise devoid of youth activities. But Burek said the water represents much more, as a small group of residents has been fighting to change the way the borough bills for water for the past two years. Property owners in Slatington currently pay a base rate of $93 for up to 8,000 gallons of water and an additional fee per 1,000 gallons. Burek wants to lower the base rate to ensure people are paying for the water they use. "It's been almost three years fighting with the water rate, then they just decide to open up the tap," Burek said of the pool. There is something rotten in the tiny burg of Slatington...and clearly her name is BUREK. I seriously hope the national media picks up the story about this witch's abuse of power, to publicly shame her. She would make a great nominee for "Worst Person in the World.

Along came Borough Council member Kris Burek, who complained that there was a "theft" of services, referring to the water going into the pool.
She had the police stop the pool-filling process.
