"Teen Talk is designed to help teenagers who feel they have no one to talk to," says Kori North, youth development coordinator for Captain and the current head of the Teen Talk program.
"We are like a first stop if someone needs to talk."
was founded to support students who were struggling with different life issues or needed a much-needed outlet, says North
Teen Talk phone lines are open for five hours every day that school is in session.
Between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., students can call in to the anonymous help line to talk to teen volunteers about their problems.
"People can call in with everything from homework help to the more serious issues," says North
