Kimberly A. Cole Kimberly Cole Biography Ms. Cole was born in Southern California. Her family relocated to the Southern United States, where she was raised in Louisiana. Ms. Cole returned to Southern California for college, attending Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in English Literature (1993). Upon graduation, Ms. Cole remained in Santa Barbara where she volunteered and pursued her desire to assist people in need, ultimately working with juvenile offenders. It was this work that brought her to law school. Ms. Cole attended Pepperdine School of Law for her Juris Doctorate. She was a Staff Writer for Pepperdine Law Review (2000-2001) and graduated magna cum laude in 2001. Ms. Cole was admitted to the California State Bar (2001) and she is licensed to practice in all State and Federal Courts in the State of California. Experience: Ms. Cole practiced law with the international firm Jones Day (2001 - 2008) specializing in business litigation and employment law. Representative clients and matters included: During her time with Jones Day, Ms. Cole was selected as a "Rising Star" by Los Angeles Magazine in 2007. This prestigious honor is reserved for those attorneys in Southern California who excel in their area of specialty. After relocating to Santa Barbara in 2008, Ms. Cole continued her practice with special emphasis to employment matters - both litigation and consulting - and general litigation. Ms. Cole also provided legal consultation to various businesses, including her family's general contracting business. Ms. Cole formed the Cole Law Group in 2010 with the single goal of providing excellent legal services in a cost-effective manner. Kimberly Cole is the principal receiver for Santa Barbara Receivers, bringing a range of expertise and judgment in this area.
Kimberly received her Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, in 2001. After graduation, Kimberly joined Jones Day - one of the largest international law firms - in its Los Angeles offices as an associate in the Litigation Department. During her seven years with Jones Day, Kimberly practiced in both federal and state courts, as well as in administrative proceedings, in areas spanning from employment law to bankruptcy. In 2008, Kimberly returned to the Santa Barbara area with her family to provide business and legal consulting to her family's construction and property management business. She maintained her litigation experience by practicing with local Santa Barbara attorneys before beginning her own practice in the fall of 2010. Kimberly's practice includes acting as a receiver. Kimberly is very familiar with the Santa Barbara area, having lived here for years before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue law school and her legal career. Kimberly attended and graduated from Westmont College with a Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies (major) and English (minor). After graduation, Kimberly lived and worked in the Santa Barbara area. Kimberly is a member of the Central Valley group of the California Receivers Forum. She has received intensive training by the California Receivers Forum. Kimberly is privileged to be a part of the Santa Barbara community. In her role as a receiver, Kimberly's goal is to honor the confidence provided to her by the parties and the Court to act as a receiver while assisting her community in protecting and maintaining its assets. To this end, Kimberly not only is supported by a team of professionals but is honored to be aided in her efforts as a receiver by Palius and O'Kelley, Certified Public Accountants, and Latitude, Inc., Property Managers.
