On Thursday 9 December, Kambala announced the appointment of Mr Kim Tsolakis to the position of Deputy Principal, Academic Growth commencing in 2016. In this Executive role, Mr Kim Tsolakis will be responsible for advancing the School's Strategic Vision while driving academic growth.
"I feel privileged to be appointed as Deputy Principal at Kambala and to be joining the School's visionary leadership team," said Mr Tsolakis.
"Kambala has an extraordinary tradition of academic excellence and I aspire to contribute my experiences to continue this tradition."
Currently employed as Director of Global Connections, Mr Tsolakis joined Kambala in 2015. He was previously Executive Officer of the Professional Teachers' Council NSW for seven years and employed at Reddam House in the roles as Head of Senior School and Head of School for five years.
As Head of School at Reddam, Mr Tsolakis was instrumental in leading a significant improvement in HSC examination performance.
During his time at the Professional Teachers' Council NSW, Mr Tsolakis led the organisation through an intense period of educational and sectoral change, and he presented in state, national and international settings. Most recently, Mr Tsolakis was invited to Harvard University to report on the development and implementation of a New South Wales Stage 5, BOSTES-endorsed course he designed, developed and authored, Active Global Citizenship.
Mr Tsolakis was recently presented with a citation from the Professional Teachers' Council NSW - the President's Award for Outstanding Contribution. The citation particularly noted him as an exemplary leader in implementing a new strategic vision.
"Mr Tsolakis' experience in education leadership and his academic knowledge of the future directions of education will lead Kambala into a new phase," said Ms Debra Kelliher, Principal at Kambala.
