has over 25 years of experience in domestic and international security and anti-terrorism activities.He attended Harvard Business School and his civilian career has included senior staff positions with former US Secretaries of State Kissinger and Haig.He has also served as a senior staff member in the White House, US Senate, and US Defense Department in the areas of national security and intelligence, and is a former Captain in the Army's Special Forces.His maritime background includes serving as the senior security executive at Princess and P&O Cruises, and Renaissance Cruises.In 2002, Kim was appointed to the US Senate Port Security Working Group; in 2003, he was appointed by the Secretary of Transportation to the Marine Transportation System National Advisory Council; and, in 2004 he was appointed by the Department of Homeland Security to the USCG Area Maritime Security Committee for Southern Florida.Kim
has frequently given expert testimony before the US Congress
on maritime and port security and his
writings have been published in several journals and books.He is a Senior Associate Instructor at the US Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and at the USCG Training Center Yorktown, and a former Visiting Professor in Maritime Security at the United Nation's World Maritime University and has been featured on '60 Minutes', ‘20/20', CNN, NPR, CBS, ABC, NBC and ‘The History Channel'.
