Though not a politician, Gallimore is always running ... literally. He has competed in 19 Boston Marathons and more than 100 marathons altogether. He also contributes to his community through running and served as a torchbearer in conjunction with the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He served several years as the race director for the High Point Regional Health System's HeartStrides 5K fundraiser, which raises money to benefit cardiac rehab patients who are unable to afford rehabilitation services. Gallimore has also provided volunteer leadership to numerous organizations, including Urban Ministry, Open Door Shelter, Central Family YMCA, Point Road Runners Club, Prison Fellowship, High Point University Chapel, World Relief, Boy Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, High Point Chamber of Commerce and Westover Church. All of his civic and community endeavors, Gallimore says, have afforded him "an amazing front row seat to watch God work in the lives of people in my community - to see lives changed." A High Point native, Gallimore is a graduate of Duke University and the Wake Forest University School of Law. HIGH POINT - Kim Gallimore has been named a 2011 recipient of the North Carolina Bar Association's Citizen Lawyer Award. The Citizen Lawyer Award recognizes attorneys who have provided exemplary service through volunteer work and civic involvement in their communities outside the practice of law. Gallimore, a native of High Point, graduated from Andrews High School in 1973. After attending college at Duke University and law school at Wake Forest, he returned to High Point in 1980 to begin his law practice with Wyatt Early Harris Wheeler & Hauser (now Wyatt Early Harris Wheeler LLP). Over the past 31 years, Gallimore's ministry and organizational involvement has included Urban Ministry, Open Door Shelter, High Point Regional Health System HeartStrides 5K, Central Family YMCA, Point Road Runners Club, Prison Fellowship, High Point University Chapel, World Relief, Boy Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, High Point Chamber of Commerce, and Westover Church. Gallimore was also an Olympic Torchbearer when the 1996 Olympic torch journeyed through High Point on its way to Atlanta. He continues to be a competitive distance runner, having completed over 100 marathons, including 19 Boston Marathons. Gallimore is a North Carolina State Bar certified specialist in Real Property Law (business, commercial, industrial, and residential transactions), and leads his firm's real estate law section. He has been chosen by his peers for inclusion among Business North Carolina's Legal Elite and Super Lawyers for North Carolina. Gallimore has served the North Carolina Bar Association as chair of its Real Property Section and currently sits on its Board of Governors. He has twice received the NCBA Real Property Section's Extraordinary Service Award. Gallimore is married to Alice Hollahan Gallimore, and they have two daughters - Emily, a recent Campbell Law graduate, and Mary, a special needs education major at Appalachian State.
