Local jewelers Kim Anderson and Chris Miller, owner of Leighton's Jewelers in Madera, were honored by their peers at a nationwide jewelry design competition and conference.
The two pieces, a freeform blue druzy pendent designed by Anderson, a designer and sales consultant for the store, and a pearl cockatoo brooch by Miller, took second place and honorable mention, respectively. "All those who voted were retail jewelers and designers, and Kim and I feel very honored to have had our designs chosen from so many outstanding pieces."
