, 41, of 105 Fallowfield Ave., was held on two counts each of rape, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault, and one count each of statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor.
Immediately after the hearing, McBride
, who had been free on his
own recognizance, was handcuffed and taken to jail after Costanzo set bail at $10,000, 10 percent acceptable.
A 15-year-old Charleroi girl, who occasionally bit her
cuticles and nervously adjusted her
clothing while on the witness stand, testified she
as the man who walked in front of her
home each day.On July 27, the girl said, he
cellular telephone while she
was baby-sitting, and left a message asking her
to come to his
home.The ninth-grade girl said McBride
in the kitchen before taking five small children who also were in the home to an upstairs bedroom and locking them inside.The girl testified McBride
then pulled her
by the arm to his
upstairs bedroom where the sexual assault occurred.
"I was so scared," the girl told Costanzo.
When asked by McBride's
attorney, Assistant Public Defender Tom Cooke, why she
was scared, the girl replied, "I don't know him that well, and he
asks me up to his
house, and he's
40s and I'm a minor."
Police were notified Aug. 7.
Costanzo also ordered McBride
, if he
is released on bond, not to walk directly in front of the girl's home.
