Doctor-Evil.com - The Underground Lair of Geoff Brown
Reborn as "Doctor-Evil.com" 10 September 1999.There have been 3080 trips to my underground lair Since October 29, 1995Who could have made me create this page? I can't imagine who ... A Little Bit About Me"Geoff Brown: Nice Guy, but He Ain't All There ... "I'm basically your average kind of guy, assuming you have a very warped sense of what the word average really is.I'm a May, 1997, graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.I once thought I'd be a family practice physcian or a pediatrician.Of course, the medical schools seemed to have different ideas about that. So, instead, I went to law school, and ended up liking it a lot more than I ever guessed I would.I started out as a part-time student at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, taking classes on weekends while working full-time during the week as the webmaster for the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan. This year, however, I managed to transfer to a new school, and I have left the wonderful world of gainful employment to become a full-time law student at the University of Michigan Law School. If life was perfect, however, I'd get to be a famous, well-paid humor columnist.I've already been a not-quite-as-famous, not-paid-at-all humor columnist, which was fun, but didn't really pay the bills.Even better, I'd be a stand-up comedian.I think I'm a pretty funny guy, and somehow, I can always get people, even complete strangers, laughing their asses off in any given situation.I've had lots of people, friends and strangers alike, tell me I should just get up on stage, but two things complicate this:I never seem to remember exactly what was so funny as to make people laugh so hard.Otherwise, I'd have a great routine, and you'd all have seen me on Letterman and Leno by now.And I could pay someone to update this site more often than I get to! :-) I am a complete pansy when it comes to the thought of getting onstage in front of all those strangers. If I could get over that, I'd be golden. Perhaps someday. After all, law school is expensive ... "Will tell jokes for tuition ... " Heh heh heh ... :-)I've been a fan of U-M sports since the fateful evening of my birth on July 24, 1975 (or, possibly before--my mother claims that my first words were "OhowIhateOhioState"), which is when I came a world which didn't seem to care if I was ready for it or not--the evidence points to "not", as I was born two weeks later than expected.I've been a fan of U-M sports since the fateful evening of my birth on July 24, 1975 (or, possibly before--my mother claims that my first words were "OhowIhateOhioState"), which is when I came a world which didn't seem to care if I was ready for it or not--the evidence points to "not", as I was born two weeks later than expected. My dad, who is the Director of Vehicle Environmental Engineering for Ford Motor Company. My "little sister," whom I persist in thinking of as my little sister despite the fact that she is now 22 years old.She is currently in college pursuing a degree in child development.I liked "The Commish," dammit! Not that I'm bitter. :-) But I digress...Wondering What Makes Me Tick? When I'm not working or sleeping, I like to read, write, watch the UMich Wolverines play football and basketball (either in person or on TV), watch Star Trek in all it's forms, surf the Internet, attempt to play a little basketball and tackle football (okay, so I suck at both.So sue me. I'm a webmaster, not an NFL star!).I Like To Make Myself Useful Every So Often ... I've also managed to become involved in a few extracurricular activities.I'm currently the Managing Editor of a new online magazine called Syntax Magazine which just debuted recently.I'm an Editor Emeritus (which is Latin for "The Guy Who Used to be Editor-in-Chief" or something like that) of the Michigan Review, the University of Michigan's Campus Affairs Journal, and I am the Chairman and President of GMB Web Services, Inc., which is my own Internet Web Design and Hosting Company.I'm an Editor Emeritus (which is Latin for "The Guy Who Used to be Editor-in-Chief" or something like that) of the Michigan Review, the University of Michigan's Campus Affairs Journal, and I am the Chairman and President of GMB Web Services, Inc., which is my own Internet Web Design and Hosting Company.I'm a pretty friendly person, and I always welcome email. My address is firstname.lastname@example.org.Drop me a line sometime ... I'll even try to answer promptly!Picture on the left: That's me!Picture on the right: A good friend of mine is shown here all decked out for a 1970s retro party (No, that's not Larry from Three's Company; yes, that is a leather sport jacket). His theory has aroused my interest, and now I have formed the Mike Theory Research team to see to what extent the Mike Theory applies to the rest of the world. So help out, and let the Mike Theory Research Team know about any of your Mike-related incidents.Women are encouraged to reply too.Click here for The Mike Theory Research Team's WWW Survey.MusicI love music in its many forms, especially classic rock, but I'll listen to almost ANYTHING ...Everything I needed to know, I learned from Star Trek ... Click here for my Star Trek Page.Click Here for My collection of Funny StuffAmong many other things, I'm also a former humor columnist (although someday, I'd like to start writing columns again ...If you're a friend of mine, and you don't have a web page, make one, so I can list you here! :-)Jim and I have an almost telepathic link, and have been known to be involved in hilarious, borderline bizarre, and completely unexpected occurrences that happen when no one else is around, and thus, nobody believes that we ever experienced them.Kevin Sawicke Kevin and I have been good friends since the sixth grade.Kevin's like the brother I never had.Of course, I haven't figured out whether I ever even wanted a brother, so we'll have to take that with a grain of salt. :-) At least I never had to fight over toys with him.Women, perhaps, but not toys.Well, this is only her first year. :-) I always joke about being so frightened of the prospect of being her patient that I intend never to get sick or injured ever again. If I ever came under her care, she'd probably order a colonoscopy for me, no matter what I came in with ("But Heather, my *arm* hurts!!!BT is a great guy to have around--he makes the good times better, and the not-so-good times not so bad. Jen's a former student of Biology at UMich, and did all kinds of cool research.Jen is a devoted fan Beavis and Butt-head, which, needless to say, makes her pretty cool in my book. Now also a PhD student in Microbiology, Eleanor is a fellow computer geek.Every so often Eleanor pops up at random social gatherings here in Michigan and challenges my occasional notions that she's dropped off the face of the earth. Ben Kepple was the Managing Editor and my right-hand man at the Michigan Review when I was editor-in-chief, and did a pretty good job as my successor.Plus he managed to deal with the ultimate strain of having to be my "right-hand man" at the Review with considerable skill, talent, and tolerance. He is now working with renowned journalist David Horowitz at the Center for the Study of Popular Culture.Lucky bastard. Clair(e) Branch is one of my most valued friends. One of few people able to match wits with me in an insult contest, Clair(e) often helps me to see things from different points of view.Plus we are a force to be reckoned with when we gang up on other people in verbal sparring matches. :-) Markus Nee I met Markus way back when we were members of the now-defunct Continuum, at the U-Michigan.Despite the fact that neither one of us are rednecks, we both enjoy NASCAR a whole bunch.
