KEVIN R. HACKETT (b 1956) was born and raised in Kansas City, MO.
A member of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist, a monastic community for men in the Episcopal Church in Cambridge, MA. He received his B.S. from Oral Roberts University in 1979 where he studied hymnology with the late Paul Wohlgemuth. He earned his M.DIV. in 1997 at Duke Divinity School, where he studied with Geoffrey Wainwright. He was ordained to the Episcopal priesthood in 1998 and presently serves as the Director of Music and Choirmaster at his monastic community. His setting of the Ghana folk song "Christ The Lord Is Risen!
