TORONTO , June 27 /CNW/ - PricewaterhouseCoopers announced today that Kevin Dancey has been elected by its partnership as the new Canadian CEO and Canadian Senior Partner in a territory leadership election conducted earlier this spring
.Mr. Dancey will begin a four-year term as leader of the Canadian organization on July 1 , 2001
assumes the role previously shared by Chairman David W. Smith and CEO Tom O'Neill , who together led the Canadian organization of PricewaterhouseCoopers
since the global merger of Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand in July 1998.Moving forward , Tom O'Neill will continue in his
role as Chief Operating Officer of PricewaterhouseCoopers'
global organization , a position he
was appointed to in July 2000 , while David Smith will divide his
time between various leadership roles in the international and Canadian organizations

.Mr. Dancey is a Chartered Accountant ( CA ) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario ( FCA )
Prior to taking on the role of CEO and Canadian Senior Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers
, Mr. Dancey
was the Canadian leader of the organization's tax services practice.
