SHELTER FROM THE STORM ELECTS KEVIN CONNER
TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
PALM DESERT: March 3, 2011 -Shelter from the Storm has elected Cathedral City Chief of Police, Kevin Conner as a new member on its Board of Directors.
Chief Conner, who will serve a two-year term, joined the Cathedral City Police Department in 1984 as one of its original members, moving up the ranks to lieutenant, captain and his appointment as Chief.

has assisted in developing organizational goals in the community and implementing a community-based policing program.
Chief Conner earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration Management from the University of Redlands and holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Chapman University in Orange, California.
He is a graduate of the United States Department of Justice, FBI National Academy and has received professional honors from numerous organizations, including the West Point Leadership Program from the City of Los Angeles Police Department; the Southwest Command College; and from Leadership Coachella Valley for his role as a participating faculty member.

Chief Conner has long been active in community affairs including serving as a USO Host Volunteer at the Palms Spring Airport; a Board Member of the Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce; a Member of the Coachella Valley Latino Police Officers Association; a member of the adjunct faculty of the College of the Desert teaching courses in Administration of Justice, Multi Cultural issues in Law Enforcement, Professionalism and Ethics, Leadership, Cultural Diversity, Sexual Harassment, Racial Profiling and various other law enforcement disciplines.
